Collections like Ao Dai Madame, Ao Dai First Lady, and Ba Ba Mademoiselle show that HUY VO does not chase fleeting trends but steadfastly refines the Vietnamese essence, quietly ensuring longevity. In fashion and in life, there are moments we settle down to preserve things: the light stops trying to shine brighter, slowing down like dusk, where a flame is lit in the heart, and reason silently shields it to burn long. A demeanor is formed from these moments.

What is the Vietnamese “love declaration” HUY VO wants to share? Share this declaration through HUY VO’s design process, materials, and inspiration.
HUY VO has no declaration. Declarations belong to Presidents, leaders, and Uncle Ho spoke clearly on this long ago. I do not pursue a specific ‘way of loving.’ Everything begins with the heart (tâm), only then does the stature (tầm) follow. Vietnamese value does not come from flowery words; the quality product itself speaks to its standing.

Doing what you love through observation, self-belief, the soul’s calling, and social awareness, then desiring to share this with contemporary society. How do all these things influence the design process, from concept to final product?
For me, design doesn’t start with inspiration, but with observation and awareness. When you understand the context you live in and what people need, the idea gains roots. Design then is not just about beauty; it has a reason to exist to dialogue with society.
| Is there a favorite quote or saying that inspires HUY VO’s design process?
“The simplest thing is the hardest to do.” This is a saying I always hold in mind while designing. Minimalism is not about cutting back, but about retaining the essential core. The most subtle, truest things that have the power to touch emotions with lasting durability. |

| HUY VO’s designs possess a feeling that is simultaneously measured, modern, gentle, and evocative. Does this stem from childhood memories? Does the surrounding life context help amplify this expression in HUY VO’s designs?
No, when one understands the spirit of the times and that contemporary style accompanies utility, the design is created based on researched principles. |

What was a turning-point difficulty for HUY VO?
Challenging and overcoming one’s ego, one’s self, and working to spread the true value of money.

In an era of daily upheaval, does HUY VO consider the Spirit of Humanism and Benevolence in his approach?
Just be a “real” person. Every humanistic or benevolent value starts there: living authentically, working authentically, and being genuinely kind.

What message do you want to send to the next generation?
Study to know your weaknesses. And don’t wait for the world’s recognition to begin. Start with what you believe is right, live with taste, and maintain constancy long enough to turn a dream into a new standard. Most importantly, don’t forget to be true to yourself throughout that journey.

If your Áo Dài were a person, where would their hometown be? In other words, is there a specific place in Vietnam you think best expresses HUY VO’s message? Please share about this place.
In memory and nostalgia, my Áo Dài was likely born in Hue, where everything is gentle yet never forgotten. There, beauty needs no explanation.

Does HUY VO believe his product evokes a sense of responsibility toward society and the community?
If society is adopting it, then it surely has value. For me, each design is not just for wearing, but also for telling a story, preserving memory, and fostering cultural pride.

One action to show your love? I will gently touch my cheek and smile, because for me, love requires no noise; it only needs to touch the right rhythm. |

One thing to close out the day?
Live meaningful, live fully for every moment. |

A poem/folk verse/proverb instead of a declaration of love?
No matter how many mountains lovers must climb, how many rivers wade, how many passes traverse. |

A representative moment when thinking about love?
“Tears.” |
